Explaining dentistry to patients has to be relevant to the human sitting in front of you. They often do not understand physics, forces or why their bodies and mouths need help. Explaining to patients cracked teeth, occlusion, fillings and periodontal treatment is often met with resistance from the patient due to a lack of comprehension on the patient’s part as well as a lack of proper explanation on the dentist or team member’s parts. Breaking down dentistry into simple, everyday experiences helps educate in a fun manner so those we serve can make an informed decision about how to move forward with treatment.
