Strides in adhesive dentistry have facilitated the emergence of nonretentive posterior indirect restorations such as overlays and onlays. The presenter will discuss what defect-driven dentistry is and the critical thought process that is involved in preparing a tooth for a non-retentive restoration. The course will provide compelling evidence for adhesive dentistry and its success rate. It will cover clinical and laboratory data to support nonretentive restorations. Finally, we will discuss how to prepare, provisionalize, design and deliver a ceramic overlay.

Develop awareness of a defect-driven approach to restorative dentistry and how it is undergirded by adhesive dentistry.
Discuss ceramic design fundamentals and how to prepare a tooth for a ceramic overlay and onlay.
Discover how to provisionalize/temporize and cement a ceramic onlay and overlay.
