Grace Chung, DDS, is a practicing general dentist and is board certified in forensic dentistry by the American Board of Forensic Odontology (ABFO). She currently serves as the chief forensic odontologist for the Clark County Office of the Coroner and Medical Examiner (CCOCME) in Las Vegas. Chung graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, in 2004, where she earned her bachelor’s degree, and subsequently commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. As a Medical Service Corps officer for six years, she served in various operational roles, with overseas assignments in Germany and Iraq. Chung earned her DDS from the University of Maryland. She started her initial training in forensic odontology with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, Maryland, where she began coding for the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System and for the National Crime Information Center dental review panel for the FBI. As the chief forensic odontologist with the CCOCME, Chung routinely consults with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department and outside agencies nationwide, serving as an expert witness regarding bitemarks and abuse, but her primary expertise is with human identification and age estimation cases. Chung is a diplomate of the ABFO, a fellow of the International Association of Coroners and Medical Examiners, and a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and American Society of Forensic Odontology. Chung maintains a private general dentistry practice in Henderson, Nevada, and is an associate fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology. Chung and her husband, along with their four children, are avid fans of the Baltimore Ravens and enjoy ski trips, swimming and frozen custard.
