This course is designed to address the key factors that determine successful periodontal plastic surgery. The indications and techniques for surgical treatment based upon the need to reestablish esthetics, restore a functional attachment and eliminate hypersensitivity will be covered. Discussion will include free gingival grafting, connective tissue grafts and future trends in periodontal plastic surgery. This workshop will provide the participant with the opportunity to perform a free gingival graft and a connective tissue graft on a pig mandible and to become knowledgeable in the inherent differences between the two techniques. All necessary instruments will be provided.
