This workshop provides an opportunity to experience crown lengthening principles and procedures for functional restorative issues as discussed in the morning prerequisite lecture. See how these techniques can solve common everyday restorative challenges like retention, open margins or inflamed tissue around crowns. Biologic width and ferrule are emphasized to enable participants to perform crown lengthening surgery if they choose or make more informed referrals if they prefer. You will do flap surgery and suturing on pig jaws and review the required osseous recontouring on models. Two videos are shown, and all instruments are provided.
Learning Objectives:
Understand surgical steps and techniques.
Understand key principles of required osseous surgery.
Review case examples in a treatment planning session.
